Day 5 - Detox countdown
Do you ever feel chronically tired, experience mood swings, aches and pains in different parts of the body, bloating, diarrhoea, headaches, inner ear infections, for no reason that you can put your finger on... and that don't seem related to any health condition you're aware of? If you answered yes to two or more of these, you could benefit from a liver and gallbladder cleanse.Lucky for you, your timing is good – here at little white feather, we're going to be doing (cue drum-roll) a two-day liver & gallbladder cleanse over Saturday and Sunday this week - and you're very welcome to join us! We're always looking for new ways to keep our wellbeing tanks topped up to the brim. And the LGBC is certainly one of them! Why the liver and gallbladder – and why now? Well, the second question is easier to answer so I'll start with that. Spring and autumn are traditionally seen as great times of year to detox the body, as the body generally finds them less taxing than other times of year. I tend to do an LGBC every autumn and a longer general cleanse in March-April. We're doing the diet on a weekend for a reason, too – to allow you to rest when you need to and enable the cleansing process to take its course. The answer to the first question is a little more complex. The body's organs function poorly for various reasons. The most obvious - and most overlooked - reason is because of a build-up of toxins and impurities within that organ. Cleansing the body and its organs means that natural remedies as well as foods will work more efficiently, because the various organs will be able to assimilate and digest them more effectively - and eliminate resultant waste products more efficiently too.Cleansing the liver is the easiest way to kick start the body and tends to lead towards better health of all these systems. The heart, stomach, spleen, pancreas, intestinal tract, kidneys, bladder, nervous system, circulatory system are all affected by what we eat and the all-important liver functions.I'll be writing a daily post, filled with tips for a successful cleanse, every day this week and for a few days beyond - to see you safely back into life beyond the diet. So, if you’d like to join us, watch out for tomorrow's post, in which we'll look at the contraindications – or when you should not do an LGBC! <3
